Amazon is already your go-to for everything from deodorant to TVs. Now, It’s making it even easier to satisfy your designer fashion fix with a new Prime feature and exclusive Echo camera.
Both are only on Amazon.com and will surely have an effect on your closet.
Remember how we talked about apps to reinvent your closet? Well, now there’s Alexa for that. Available for $199.99 by invitation only, this is no ordinary echo. With a hands-free camera and Style Check, it’s a personal wardrobe assistant.
Using a voice-controlled camera, take full-length photos or videos of your outfit. Then, you can keep track of all your favorite looks for easy selection in the future. (Plus, it can help you actually remember what you wore each week.) Easily use the pics to create your own lookbook, share, blur the background for Instagram so you can stand out in each image, or use the photos to get wardrobe advice.
Echo Look will use Style Check – a mix of tech comparing the latest trends and fashion experts – to help you complete the look if you’re stuck. Simply submit pictures of up to two outfits you want help with and you’ll be introduced to styling options that ensure you’re on point.
Don’t worry, this version of Alexa can still give you the weather and such.
This feature was just announced yesterday and I already love it. Think of it like Rent the Runway meets your favorite savings app. Shoppers with Amazon Prime can choose three to five items from clothes, shoes and accessories to be sent home for a try-on period. (A million items will be a part of the “Prime Wardrobe” program and show the logo online for easy selection.)
Take up to a week to decide if those picks work for you. You only pay for what you keep, so ship back the misfits for free and hold onto what works best. If you decide to keep 3+ items from the package, you save 10 percent on that purchase! Love all 5? You save 20 percent!
On things like a $425 Halston dress or a new 3.1 Philip Lim bag, that discount can seriously add up.
The program is still in the testing phase (beta) but you can sign up to be notified as soon as it launches. Can’t wait for more details? Here’s a video on how it works.
Happy Thursday, loves! Check back next week for runway-worth style tips and more fashion news, of course. I’m working only 10 best posts ever over the next few weeks so you’ll be in for some seriously stylish reads.
Until then, have a great weekend!
