There’s nothing better than finding something by your favorite designer or celebrity and actually being able to afford it! The increase in exclusive and/or fast-fashion partnerships has only made this happen more often. I love it!
There are so many great brands and couture houses teaming up with the places you already shop. So, I started digging for the best and biggest collaborations happening from now until September. One runway-worthy line in particular may make you break into your happy dance. (It definitely did for me!) Others will give you some great inspiration for that dream wardrobe, later on.
Here’s the list of collections worth updating your calendar app for.
Anna Sui X Macy’s
Are you kidding me?! First Yigal Azrouel and now this.
Anna Sui’s designs amaze onlookers more and more with each collection. The designer consistently creates a fantasy world of bold mixed prints, and extravagant as well as eclectic detailing. Every piece makes a statement, so you don’t know where to look first. There’s one major issue that keeps me from buying her line – the price. The online shop includes extravagant pieces at prices just outside your budget (think a tailored, embroidered “Butterfly and Hearts” top for $530 or mesh floral pants for $372).
Now, her fabulous taste is coming to Macy’s for a collaboration with INC. International Concepts, the company’s exclusive line. I expect these price tags will be much more manageable. The capsule collection will be available at just 25 Macy’s stores as well as Macys.com in early September 2017.
According to the L.A. Times, it will complement Macy’s overarching “western vibrations” theme with western romance inspiration as its inspiration. Of course, there is no way it will look like a boring black and white movie. Instead Sui has glittered the collection with “feminine prairie accents and hints of glamour with lace details, fringe and embroidered florals.”
Supreme X Commes des Garçon SHIRT X Nike
Keep reading this section if you have a thing for sneakers and couture. The collaboration brings together three top-tier brands for the epitome of streetwear. Available online-only starting today for U.S. and European shoppers, the custom Air Force 1 Low sneakers feature artistic black and white, screen-printed “eyes” along the heel and sides. More striking than creepy, the graphics cannot be ignored and should make a statement regardless of what you wear them with. To be frank, they’re not my style but I can think of a few outfits – especially athleisure – where they would look amazing.
Just be careful with the price. Such high-profile names mixed with Nike’s cult sneaker fans may mean this will be in more limited supply soon and/or a higher price point.
Draper James x Nordstrom
The southern belle in you may never stop smiling. Reese Witherspoon’s feminine line of classic dresses, sweet kate spade-esque prints (my favorite is the umbrella pattern!), saying-topped t-shirts and adorable home goods is making it’s way into the wholesale business. Its first location: Nordstrom, of course.
I particularly called this one out because the department store is launching it’s latest addition with pieces exclusive to them and may make the line available for discounts! A cold-shoulder, collared shirtdress, gingham cloister top and ruffle-covered sleeveless blouse are just a few of the exclusives that can easily transition into your closet.
It doesn’t stop there. The brand also has a series of sunglasses and totes to complete the look. If you’re looking for pieces that will add something extra to your everyday style, this is it. Prices stick to the budget friendly pace of $18 and tap out at $250.
My Theresa x Off White
Think Victoria Beckham chic meets your off-duty wardrobe. This capsule collection with Off-White was inspired by the movie “Working Girl.” But, you can forget those pencil skirts and suits your parents made you buy after graduation. Each casual piece comes with the mission of reinventing your weekend look with a glamorous, runway air.
The collection includes blush organza pants, a half off-the-shoulder play on the button down, a denim romper with graphic white stripes on the sleeves, corsets and a cute blue striped button-down with ruffles at the hip. (I kinda want that last one for myself.)
Prices range from $370 to $1,183 and some pieces are already sold out! Did I mention it was designed by the Creative Director for Kanye West?
The Elder Statesman X Moda Operandi
This one is for all of you thinking about making a splurge or just have The Elder Statesman on your bucket list of designers. Moda Operandi, the online trunk show site known for all things luxury, has teamed up with The Elder Statesman to satisfy your vacation needs with all things color and casual.
Giving off a seriously 80’s vibe, you’ll see a palm tree-detailed tie-dye sweatshirt for $1,665 and a multi-color, vertical-striped bikini I already love for $90 a piece. There’s also Baja tops that resemble your favorite worn-in cover-ups ($935 to $13,75), a coral belted pashmina shirt dress for your everyday style ($2,845) and much more.
My favorite look? The aqua raw cropped sweatshirt and cotton fleece skirt fit for those cooler days. Overall, the vibrant color palette screams summer-ready and can add to any look you choose!
Can you tell I’m more than ready for this season of beach days, outdoor lunches and weekend day trips to begin?
That’s it for now!
Thank you so much for reading my first, set Thursday post. I’ll be back soon (Tuesday!) with details about this weekend’s upcoming D.C. trip and style tips, of course. Have a great weekend, loves!
