Happy Valentine’s Day, Everyone! We know this as the day to break out those standby pink, black and white looks to complement an extra hint of romance in the air.
But for me, and most of you single 20 something’s out there, today is also about treating myself to something special and remembering how wonderful you are. You probably get this a lot but it’s worth repeating: You’re beautiful, stylish and fun. Nothing, especially not one day, can take that away from you.
Now, it’s on to the good stuff!
Whether you’re celebrating today or this weekend, the big question is – what are you going to wear?!
I love and hate some holidays at the same time because the predesignated color scheme tends to force people into a uniform. For that reason, I say forget convention and make it your own! Whether the outfit that makes you feel your best is white, red, purple or blue, makes no difference. Today is about the beautiful person you are as much as your loved ones.
Think of it this way – what outfit makes you feel yor best?
Have an idea? Good
Still don’t know what to wear and want to be festive? No worries. I’ve got a few ideas for you on Pinterest. Other than that, here are my favorite winter holiday outfit formulas for tonight:
Meet the Weather with a Dash of Femininity
Staying warm is just as important as being cute. Celebrate the day with a bright-colored dress, tights and statement ankle boots with a slight heel. The combination will keep you looking cute and warm as well as ready for the random patches of snow still along the city streets.
Get Kitchy with a Few Hearts or Spots of Red
A well-placed heart (like the pockets on this Moschino skirt) paired with solid accents and sleek heels can elevate your look from A remake of Mom’s holiday sweaters to chic. Just have some fun with it! And let one piece serve as your statement to build around. (Piece of advice, skip the standard heart necklace for a heart-shaped purse or hair clip. Both are fun and slightly less common.)
Want something a little bolder?
Pull the one-color look
Wear all red, white, orange or whatever you like. The vibrancy and unexpected lack of contrast will make you stand out as well as make getting ready in the morning slightly easier. After all, you only have one shade to choose from 🙂
That’s it for now. Have a great week and a very happy holiday!
