It’s time to get the celebrity treatment. On Sunday, Calvin Klein decided not to wait for fashion week and instead skipped the runway in favor of something more modern – social media.
On Instagram, with the help of Millie Bobby Brown from “Stranger Things” and a few more celebrities, the brand’s 8 Million fans got the story first. Rad Simons’ first line as creative director is a New York-based, 14-piece made-to-measure collection complete with customized accessories, a four-color beaded fringe top, bold black skirt set that carries iconic sex appeal, a statement tulle skirted dress that goes beyond the ballet and more.
As you can see, this collection is beyond the baggy clothes and underwear ads oh knew in the 1990s. It’s about full-on personalized attire. (Think couture and the matching price tag.) The service’s landing page on CalvinKlein.com denotes it as “A tribute to the Calvin Klein atelier: A full range of handcrafting skills from embroidery to tailoring.” A quote from Simmons also notes it as a statement to what Calvin Klein represents, “Calvin Klein is not only about iconic underwear and jeans – it’s about so much more.”
While I promote savings above splurging, if you desperately want to spend that bonus you got last month, the process to get your own custom Calvins is rather easy. Start by emailing “ByAppointment@ck.com.”
Appointments begin on April 1, 2017 in their New York location at 205 West 39 in New York City.
Happy Monday, everyone!
