Labor Day means now’s the time to relax and enjoy a well-deserved long weekend. And it’s not over yet! If you’ve had your eye on a few special somethings, now may be the time to pick them up. The terms “extra percent off” are being thrown around more than usual. To help you sift though the unneeded promotions emails, here’s a list of my top 15 favorite national sales, plus an extra special note from my hometown.
Head over to the sale section and you’ll see that these luxe, typically out-of-reach designs are just a little closer to your budget. Each piece comes with an extra 40 percent off that is directly applied to checkout – no code or link needed! Don’t know what to check out first? This embroidered cardigan ($90) and red linen shirtdress ($100) instantly caught my eye. (And those prices are before the added discount!) Just take a look sooner rather than later. Instead of giving a date, the site simply reads that it will be discounting for “a limited time.”
From now until September 5, get up to 70% off clothes, shoes and accessories for absolutely everyone! This discount goes for kids, that special person in your life, and of course, you! The good brands aren’t excluded either. Click over to find Alex & Ani bracelets stack, Sam Edelman rain boots for this season’s already continuous showers and Ray-Ban Sunglasses for those Jonas Brothers flashback moments. If you don’t have Prime, just spend $49 (which you know is so easy to do!) and get free shipping.
Is it even a holiday if the department stores aren’t buzzing with discounts? Take advantage of the “Big Brown Bag Sale” and snag clearance items up to 60 percent off. Then take and extra 20 percent off that price! With just a few quick looks, I found a lattice top that would look great with a pair of jeans, for under $50, and a cute green, everyday dress for just over $60. No code needed. But, there are some exclusions so make sure to check them out on the website before you click “checkout.”
Diamond Dream – Local Spotlight!
My hometown is taking Labor Day by the horns with a fashion-focused blow out sale! Diamond Dream, an upscale jewelry store in Bernardsville, N.J., recently added a clothing section to their location. If you haven’t already, now may be the time to check it out and get a few investment pieces for less. Catch brands like Ulla Johnson, Fabiana Filippi and Blumarine as you move through the racks. Prices range anywhere from $125 to $900. The sale ends on 9/6 but I wouldn’t wait too long. They tell me the good stuff is usually bought before they can even put it on Instagram!
Want a pair of sandals for that last outdoor barbecue or fun flats for a softer transition into fall? Find them as well as slip-ons and heels for under $20 online, now! Don’t worry about having to sift through pages upon pages or sale items to find them. An entire section of Labor Day specials are marked off for you under that price point, here, to make the search that much easier.
One thing to tempt you (at least it enticed me!) – these tassel-accented Indigo Rd. Kanara Slip-On Sneaker for $19.94.
Still in need of that go-to wrap dress? This may be the time to finally get it. Head over to dvf.com or your local store to catch a Labor Day sale that includes up to 50 percent off styles “to wear now.” Prices are still a little higher than I would like at $199 for a light blue fit-and-flare dress with elongating darting as well as that iconic printed wrap. The accessories and swimsuits, however, are a little more wallet-friendly. Get a gold geometric ring or elegant-meets-edgy floral drop earrings for under $62. Or, pick up a new colorblock swimsuit that screams “stunning” in blue for just over $100.
If you’re not sure you want to spend so much cash, I don’t blame you. Keep reading for more scroll-worthy sales that fit your budget.
You know how sales work here: Every day is a new deal and final clearance always has a few hidden treasures. Love it! Click over to the site or check out your nearest store to get up to 60 percent off select summer basics and fall-ready styles.
Found something outside of the seasonal section that you love? Just use code “7804” to snag free shipping between today and 9/5.
Have a Limited card? Your going to love this next sentence. Cardmembers can take full advantage of this savings holiday with access to 40 percent off the newly-released Eva Longoria collection and 30 percent off Universal Stretch Denim. Check your email for a personal promo code to help you grab that deal between today and Monday.
Lord & Taylor
You know how much I love this store – especially when it has good discounts going on! This weekend is one of those times. Use code “LABORDAY” to get an extra 25 percent off clearance (which is already up to 80 percent off!) and/or 20 percent off sale and regular priced items. In the mood for some serious shopping? Use the code “BONUS” to get $20 off a purchase of $160 or more – before 9/6.
I couldn’t forget the king of statement pieces and funky accessories. The brand just added even more to its sale section, which means getting designer goods for less just got easier. Grab a rose gold watch that goes with everything for $125 (that’s half off!), a fun splatter print phone case for $20 or that infinitely cute crossbody you’ve been eyeing for $147.50. Then, use code “BYESUMMER” before 9/6 to get an extra 20 percent off that select sale-filled total. The start of Fall never looked so good.
This brand has been talked about on every site from Refinery29 to The Zoe Report. If you haven’t already checked it out, this sale will make you want to. Find trendy pieces like this off-the-shoulder chambray top ($36) alongside a black vegan leather motorcycle jacket ($76) and more staples to fill those gaps in your closet. Everything is up to 70 percent off and final sale. That means great deals and a need to take a close look at their size guide. (The latter is located at the bottom of their site!)
Now we’re talking! The brand-turned-book-turned-#GirlBoss-icon is offering an extra 25 percent off markdown pieces. So, everything from fringe-draped saddle bags to gold statement choker necklaces and a crop-optional army jacket are at your service for even lower prices. By the way, all of these are under $41 without the added discount. Looks like you have some serious shopping to do!
Neiman Marcus Last Call
This sale is just for the ladies. Get up to 65 percent off women’s fashion without the need to memorize a code or use your email to enter. Some of the jaw-dropping finds include: Frame Denim jeans for $71 (that’s 70 percent off!), a floral Alice + Olivia ponte dress for $115 (65 percent off retail!), and a Kate Spade phone case that will have you singing “It’s bananas” for $29. The best part: You can sort by “highest discount” online to make sure you get the best deals possible.
The celebrity-followed stylist and mega-mogul is celebrating this extra-long weekend with 40 percent off “summer favorites.” What does that mean exactly? Well, you can get a sleeveless, stylist-approved top for $94 and give your closet some added dimension, or splurge and get this sophisticated, collared romper for $237. (The retail for that last one is $395 – eek!) Into a more 70s-inspired look? Then there are plenty of looks you have to see!
DSW can’t be the only shoe brand to have fun. If you’re like me and tend to go toward the Circus by Sam Edelman styles, you’ll love this! Use code “SAMSALE20” (details online) to get an extra 20 percent off shoes that are already on sale. This includes those studded suede pumps you’ve been looking for, rain boots that remind me of Fyre but fall at a comfortable price of $39, and leopard ankle boots. These last ones will be everywhere this Fall!
More on that in my upcoming, Fall style guide!
Based in L.A., this brand is all about fun, vintage-style clothes and making you stand out in a good way. Think everything you love about retro fashion-obsessed movies meets modern silhouettes and sayings that make you want to snap a picture just to use it as a hashtag. If you haven’t already checked Wildfox out, just know that the brand is offering 20 percent off absolutely everything in the name of Labor Day. I’m sure that little tidbit makes you want to look now! If you find something, use code “TAKEITOFF” at checkout to score this deal.
Up next week: NYFW events you can actually attend, news to know, and fall style tips.
PSST….If you want more details on the upcoming Fall style guide, leave me a note in the comments! I’ll make sure to answer as many questions as I can.
