When I think of classic beauty, the first things that come to mind are Audrey Hepburn and a red lip. Her grace and timeless fashion sense have made her into an icon that still pops up every Halloween. But, there is s way to channel her gorgeous look without seeming like you belong in the fifties or at a costume party.
Here are three easy tips for looking classic and chic.
Slip on a Midi or Knee-Length Skirt
A mini skirt can offer too much potential for wardrobe malfunctions while a tea-length or maxi can end of dragging you down. For the perfect balance of modesty (a common trait in classic beauties) and chic style, opt for a midi or knee-length option. Whether it’s a work-friendly pencil skirt or flowing A-line, both will show just enough leg to add intrigue (plus outline of your curves!).
For a modern twist, choose one with an eyelet pattern and extended hem (like this Kensie option for $27) or a statement print (I can’t get over this animal print one from ASOS for $68). Then, just balance out the top with the length of your skirt. If you put on a midi, feel free to throw on a tasteful crop top or shoulder-baring cami. For a knee-length, choose something classic like a basic v-neck shirt or button down with rolled-up sleeves.
Side note: Hate skirts? A dress or cropped cigarette pants also work! See my look above for inspiration!
Jazz Up Natural Makeup with a Bold Lip
Classic beauty icons were known for their fashion sense as much as their natural beauty. Show off yours with simple mascara and a light eye shadow that shows off your features. (I tend to go with a light gray shadow on the lid and white shadow just under my eyebrow.) For a little drama, add a ruby or a darkened fuchsia lip – whichever matches your skin tone. A comparable, bold lip can be just enough makeup to make a statement and still let you look tasteful.

Go for Statement Flats or Low Block Heels
There are so many gorgeous options for shoes this season that sky-high stilettos are just not worth the pain anymore. Switch things up with a more comfortable pair of on-trend mules, lace-up flats or two-tone low block heels. (Click those links for a few options under $100 that I think Audrey Hepburn would love.)
