On Sunday, I mentioned that there was some big news coming your way this week. Now time has finally come! Drumroll please……I joined a fashion and beauty blogger collaboration called #BeautiesOnFire!
What does this mean for you? Basically, I’ll be working with 25+ amazing women to write themed posts every Thursday and you get to pick what we write about! Once we come up with a few solid topics, they will be put to a vote on Twitter. You, lovely readers, can always email me or comment with what you want to read about, but this should make things easier and much faster!
Next week’s options include: Summer, Summer Travel, Classic Beauty and, of course, Beauty on Fire. Cast your vote here or with the tweet below:

I’ll be creating a look for whichever one YOU choose! Plus, each blogger has the option to add in a few extras like a tutorial, checklist or their favorite products under the given theme. (So, no worries! You won’t be reading the same thing over and over again!)
To get things started, we’re all saying a little about our blogs and style.
1.) Tell us a little about your blog and why you decided to start blogging.
I started StylisticReaction back in 2012 when I was a sophomore, journalism major at Penn State (We Are!). I desperately wanted an outlet to write about fashion – especially the most iconic designers and style tips. One problem: my budget was nowhere near what I needed to buy Dior, Chanel or anything else outside of Forever21. Queue my official blogging topic! As I learned how to buy designer for less and develop my own style, I decided to share my findings with so you could do the same.
2.) How long have you been blogging?
I’ve been blogging on and off for…four years! Ahh just realized that now.
3.) Do you consider yourself a fashion blogger, beauty blogger, or both?
I consider myself a fashion and lifestyle blogger! For me, fashion is a part of representing your already amazing personality through your clothing. It’s an art form and an inspiration for all those around you. However, while developing your style is very important, so is staying on budget and developing into the great person you always wanted to be. Because of this, I also try to cover travel and apartment decorating on a budget as well as tips for handling certain situations and taking care of you.
4.) List 3 things you love to do besides blogging
- Reading – Basically, I can’t go into The Strand or Barnes & Noble without wanting to buy half the store. My dream is to have a library in my house one day!
- Fashion Sketching – I took a class on it with the amazing Amanda Yoakum a few years ago. I’ve loved it ever since and continue to bust out a few designs whenever I get the chance.
- Trying out new restaurants/events in New York City – This is my absolutely favorite! There’s always something new to do, a restaurant to try or borough to explore. Life’s boring if you do the same types of things all the time, after all. (This also feeds into my love of travel!)
5.) Can you describe your style?
Let’s put it this way, Audrey Hepburn is my favorite actress and original style icon. I love all things classic and tend to stay on the modest side. (Thankfully, that’s becoming a trend again! More on that soon.) This means, I go for timeless pieces: mid to long skirts, flowing tops, flats, a bold lip and statement coats. For me, it’s all about feeling good in my clothes and dressing things up with a smile, more than anything else.
6.) What is your one must have fashion piece?
I would have to say it’s a pair of straight-leg, medium blue jeans. I am definitely a jeans girls and would live in them every day if I could. Plus, the versatility of a good pair makes them essential for any wardrobe.
