We’ve all done it. Instead of taking the time to plan out an outfit, you wake up late and throw on something you know always looks good. Well, once you wear it 3 or 4 times in a month, it starts to lose the “wow factor.” You become part of a style rut. No worries, here’s how to break it.
Dig into Your Closet
Once I look back at everything I actually own, I’ll usually find at least 6 items I completely forgot I owned. I’m sure you’ll find the same. They can be anything from a skirt with the tickets on to your old favorite scarf from 2 years ago. If you still like what you find, consciously re-incorporate it into your active wardrobe. This will help spruce up that everyday look.
Have Fun with Your Accessories
A basic top and dress pants can be reborn with just the use of a statement necklace, scarf or drop earrings. It’s all about presentation and making things easier on yourself in the morning.
Go Window Shopping
Whether you like to flip through magazines or take a stroll through your local mall, use this time to your advantage. Turn everything you see into possible inspiration!
Does it fit your personality to wear your belt that way? Is a backpack or fedora really something you would buy if it wasn’t tendy?
When in doubt, just try it! Use a new perspective to evaluate your current wardrobe and make new outfits. Or, If it’s within your budget, pick up a new piece to help you with the process.
Reinventing your look is as simple as that and doesn’t require spending extra money on a who new closet. After going through this process, you’ll easily have a bunch of new go-to looks.
