My hometown is about 8 degrees right now – we’re in the single digits people! But today’s frigid temperatures don’t have to affect your Valentine’s Day plans. Here’s a way to keep warm and irresistible for that special someone.
Focus on Accessories
No matter what you choose to wear beneath that gorgeous winter coat, make sure your best features are taken care of: If you’re going for a down hairstyle and the weather isn’t too unbearable, keep your ears warm under a knit headband or your favorite pair of headphones. Both should preserve your look from that winter chill.
In an area that’s actually freezing, have some fun with different prints and materials. Go for a bold knit cap, cashmere or wool scarf and tech-friendly gloves. Layers will definitely be your friend! These are two examples from my closet:
Pick a Winter-Friendly Outfit
Going for something long that covers every inch of skin, while warm, may not be ideal in most cases. So, do the best of both worlds. A bodycon dress with a longer hem and sleeves will show off your curves while keeping you covered from the cold. (It also goes well with opaque tights to protect your legs; and the neckline can be covered by a scarf !)
Not really your style? Turtle necks can have a similar affect in showing off your curves while still keeping you warm. Better yet, warmer pants are a preferred an option with this top.
Still want something different? Your shoes can solve that problem. Taller boots (such as knee-highs or mid-calves) with tights or well-fitting pants may make your legs look longer and take care of that nasty bite from the wind.
Whatever you choose to wear, I’m sure it will be gorgeous. Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your sweetheart!
