You read that correctly. Once again, Chanel transformed an everyday location into the extraordinary scene for its runway show. First, the legendary brand brought us the Fall/Winter 2014 collection surrounded by its very own supermarket. Shelves stocked with products, bright carts and fresh fruit were all a part of the display. (Can’t remember? Here’s a refresher.) This time, Karl Lagerfeld took things to a whole new level by transforming the Grand Palais into a mock airport terminal, specifically Chanel Airlines. Proving chic formal and casual wear have a place on your next flight, Vogue reports that multiple models strutted down the runway with luggage, the classic Chanel flap purse or mini luggage-inspired purses. There were even a pair of light-up velcrow sandals reminiscent of a landing strip. Of course, models passed by gate N°5 after the signature perfume and others passed through the scene airline pilot- inspired frocks. Every detail was an ideal match to the theme and it still takes my breathe away. Did I mention that guests had to “check in” with their own airline ticket? Happy Tuesday, everyone!
