That’s right. The amazing Givenchy is showing its Spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection in New York instead of Paris this year. It’s all to commemorate the opening of its Manhattan flagship, according to The New York Times. But that’s not the only surprise. By luck of the draw and ensuring they get the second day of NYFW, they will be showing on September 11th — and members of the public can be there. Get ready New York, because as of 10am tomorrow, September 2nd, 820 of you have the chance to win a ticket to the show. According to WWD, the website for entry will be released on social media through the accounts for NYCgo, the CFDA, KCD and, of course, Givenchy. The tickets will be slotted as follows: 280 are set aside for students and faculty at fashion schools, 100 go to residents living near the unannounced show’s location and (from what I can tell) the rest are up for grabs. Given its historic date, the show will also follow a theme of love and family. Here is the link and countdown.
If you get a ticket: you will enter through a separate entrance from the industry folk. However, that should not take away from the fact that you will be sitting in the same room as some of the masterminds of fashion!
If you don’t get a ticket: the brand is known to livestream their shows so you still have a chance at seeing the season’s most fabulous looks glide down the runways.
Happy Tuesday, everyone! And best of luck!
