I’m not sure about you guys but for my neighborhood, this summer has been nothing but a constant heat wave with a few thunderstorms thrown in. When Mother Nature seem’s like she’s attacking you from both ends, it’s hard to continue to look your best. Here are a few tips that you can use to tackle this crazy summer weather.
Take advantage of the braid trend that has swooped across the runways for this season and the upcoming fall. They especially help to tame your hair a bit during a bad hair day. You can do the fishtail braid for a causal look or any type that you feel comfortable with. Here’s a video from Refinery 29 that shows you how to do the braid that wraps around your head – I call it the crown braid.
You can also look at Cinthia Truong’s Youtube channel for tutorials on a bunch of other looks that are sure to add a little edge to your hot summer look.
That was one of my favorite’s so far. I just found her page and there are tons of ideas for you to try.
Stick with something light that will keep you cool and looking chic during these crazy weather shifts. Try matching solid shorts with a multi-color top. I’ve placed a few visual suggestions below. Just remember, if you’re going to wear a shorter flowy skirt, you may want to put spandex on underneath because if the wind starts up, you do not want to be caught in a Marilyn Monroe moment. We all know that iconic image.
Always keep sunglasses, a small umbrella and a either make-up with SPF or a travel sized sunscreen in your purse. I also carry a few hair pins and a small hair tie in my purse just in case my hair decides it’s going to become a frizz ball while I’m out. These items take up very little room and this way you’re always covered.
